Closed: Have you got what we want?

ACTion Youth Theatre, in conjunction with Altona City Theatre is looking for two young males to play the roles of the Beast and Gaston in their October production of Disneys “Beauty and the Beast”.

Audition dates

July 31^st from 3.00pm

Auditions will be held at Altona Theatre, 115 Civic Parade Altona.  Proceed to the rear/stage door.

We are looking for boys aged 15-18 years old.  Rehearsals will be held at Altona Theatre on Saturday mornings from 9.00am till 2.pm, as well as some weeknight rehearsals closer to production.  The dates of the production are the weekends of October 15 and 22.

Audition requirements

Please prepare one song that best demonstrates your vocal ability.  Please provide sheet music in the correct key.  No backing tracks.

Please wear comfortable clothing as there will be a short dance section as part of your audition.

Please note that we are not out to cast look-a-likes from the Disney movie.  Performers from all ethnic backgrounds are invited to audition.

The Beast:  The Beast is the master of the castle who was transformed by the Enchantress’s spell.
Vocal requirements – Baritone. Low e to high e

Gaston:  Gaston is pompous and dim-witted and will do whatever it takes to win Belle’s hand. Gaston has all the confidence in the world, but lacks the humility to balance it.
